Denyque Dontré who lives by the quote: “Quod Me Nutrit Me Destruit” .. which is

Latin for [What Nourishes Me also Destroys Me]; firmly believes that whatever brings you happiness can also cause you pain. At merely 20 years old & equipped with massive vocals in a very small frame; this entertainer/singer, songwriter & entrepreneur has reached a level of maturity that is far beyond her years; and with unmistakable natural talent is determined to make her place among the best of the best in the music industry. Being exposed to music at a very early age, Denyque grew into her talent and fell in love with the art; deciding that one day she would be ‘inside’ the TV and the radio.

She was born on February 21, 1989 in Brandon Hill, Montego-Bay, St. James; and after just a few months her family moved to Ferris, Westmoreland. Growing up in Savanna-La-Mar [Westmoreland], Denyque attended Preparatory School where she maintained an A+ average. Even though she was an excellent student; music would somehow, always make its way into her daily activities, [as her mother recalls her being able to sing the National Anthem, almost word for word, at just two (2) years old].

In August 2000, her family again moved; this time to Mandeville, Manchester and it was upon receiving a scholarship to the prestigious Belair School that Denyque’s musical escapades truly began. She believes that her years at Belair were most fulfilling and rewarding. She was continuously an Honour Roll awardee, participated in various extra-curricular activities, was a part of a variety of sports teams and it was at Belair that she really began to gain experience as a singer & performer, grow, blossom and develop her talent. On June 29, 2006, Denyque graduated from Belair with Honours and in turn received a half-scholarship to return for their 6th form programme. She did one year of this programme, attained three (3) CAPE subjects and moved on the University of Technology, Jamaica. In 2006, she teamed up with Brian McLaughlin of Rockwildaz Entertainment & Sanjay Pennant [Freeze Productions] & later on Rashard Marshall [who is now head of Promotions in Florida]. He has helped tremendously in making her name predominant in South Florida & to date is still working on getting Denyque the exposure he knows she deserves. “I believe in her so so much.

She’s a great person inside & out and the thing I love most about her is that she dares to dream; She’s goal-oriented and she’s proven that she can survive.” – Rashard In August 2008, Denyque was contacted by Rose Linton of Arrows Recording who finally convinced her to sign with the company. Since then, Denyque has been in and out of the studio daily & in the streets building a name for herself. She has matured so much vocally and in her song writing skills, with the help of Phillip [Junior Arrows] Linton & her Musical Director, Nigel Staff. She is also making connections with other producers in the business; locally & internationally.

Denyque loves languages & is a philosophy junkie. She speaks fluent French & dabbles in some Spanish here and there. Along her musical journey, she plans to perfect her language skills. “To the Stars through Music” [♫ = ♥]
